PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

Sabelo obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Witwatersrand in 2018. His career path has been marked by valuable experiences and achievements.

Sabelo was admitted as in March 2023, after completing his articles of clerkship at a boutique firm in Johannesburg. He then joined a medium sized firm in Randburg as an Associate, where he gained valuable experience in Employment and Labour law. He later moved to a reputable boutique firm in Sandton to learn valuable skills in Corporate and Commercial law. During his legal career, he has attained various favourable Labour Court judgments and Bargaining council awards.

In October 2025, Sabelo joined MBA Incorporated as an Associate Attorney, bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to the firm.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Successfully represented the Applicant in the landmark case of Rosey Seokwane v Bidvest Prestige Cleaning Services relating to dismissals and discrimination based on age. The matter is used as reference in the CCMA guidelines
  • Successfully represented the South African National Biodiversity Institute in multiple cases at the Labour Court, including a landmark case relating to dismissals based on stokvels in the workplace (Kaweng v South African National Biodiversity Institute and Others (JR 2221/22)
  • Formed part of the legal team assisting South African Broadcasting Corporation with disputes relating to unfair dismissals
  • Chairing and initiating hearings for various government institutions and various companies
