LEBOGANG, is an Associate Partner at Motsoeneng Bill Attorneys with extensive experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. With further experience in client consultation, drafting and reviewing various service-level agreements and standardised supplier agreements, providing legal advice on procurement-related matters, labour law-related matters, including disciplinary proceedings, and human resources and remuneration, as well as reviewing policies and advising on governance-related issues.
PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
Lebo’s professional journey reflects over a decade of expertise in litigation and dispute resolution. He began his career as a Candidate Attorney at Ledwaba Mazwai (2010 – 2012) before being appointed as an Associate at the same firm, a role he held until 2016. His dedication and strong litigation skills earned him promotion to Senior Associate at Ledwaba Mazwai (2016 – 2022), where he gained extensive experience across complex commercial disputes. In October 2022, he joined TGR Attorneys as Director of Commercial Litigation, further strengthening his leadership and technical expertise. He went on to serve as Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Poswa Inc (March 2024 – May 2025), leading strategic litigation matters with distinction. In September 2025, Lebo took on his current role as Associate Partner at Motsoeneng Bill Attorneys, where he continues to apply his extensive legal knowledge, leadership, and client-focused approach.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
- Acting on behalf of Santam with regards to lodging action proceedings on behalf of and defending actions brought against the insured; including providing recommendations on quantum and engaging with the third party in settlement discussions.
- Acting on behalf of Absa assisting in the recovery of debts owed to the bank in respect of home loans, vehicle finance and on and off balance portfolios.
- The services rendered to POLMED, entail, inter alia, reviewing forensic audits on health care providers prepared by POLMED’s administrator, lodging and opposing applications, representing the interests of POLMED in motion and action proceedings, and attending to various interlocutory matters.
- Reviewing POLMED's policies in relation to, inter alia, the protection of client data and anti-fraud and corruption.
- In relation to SARS I have provided advise on various Value Added Tax ("VAT"), income tax and High Court matters, Tax inquiries in terms of the Tax Administration Act of 2011 ("Tax Administration Act") and furnishing various opinions; and currently assists SARS in various legal proceedings related to VAT and income tax in forums such as the Tax Court and the High Court
- Further to the above, advising in respect of Customs and Excise related matters which included the following:
- Advising and assisting SARS in respect of disputes related to the import/export of goods to/from South Africa. In this respect LM has provided assistance to SARS in respect of matters emanating from duties and value added tax ("VAT") demanded by the Commissioner of SARS ("Commissioner") in terms of the Customs and Excise Act 91;
- Advising and assisting SARS in respect of disputes related to the import/export of goods to/from South Africa. In this respect LM has provided assistance to SARS in respect of matters emanating from duties and value added tax ("VAT") demanded by the Commissioner of SARS ("Commissioner") in terms of the Customs and Excise Act 91 of 1964 ("Customs Act");
- Assisting in disputes related to tariff classification codes and the rate(s) of duty payable thereto in terms of the Customs Act;
- Disputes related to the declaration and determination of goods in terms of the Customs Act;
- Representing the interests of PRASA which entails defending third party claims against PRASA, providing of legal opinions on merits and quantum and settlement of disputes. Further including interviewing witnesses in preparation for trial as well as Magistrate and High court appearances.
- Assisting the IDC and Eskom in motion and action proceedings in matters relating to perfection of security, debt recovery as against debtors and guarantors and settlement of disputes
